The I Create Rajasthan Programs
Rural Projects

-
ICR has "adopted" two villages, Palri Meena and Jagga ki Bawri. It has a sub center in Palri Meena, staffed by a field worker.
Empowerment of Women through Entrepreneurship (EWE) Program & Skills Training for women under project Shakti are conducted there.Thirty-eight women entrepreneurs have been created in the village of Palri Meena.
Mrs. Behroze Singh, a local entrepreneur gave a large order for sewing bags made of fabric to ICR’s women from the villages of Jagga ki Bawri and Palri Meena. Skills training was provided and production started. The entrepreneur was so pleased that she has placed another large order.
The women of Palri Meena village participated in the Government Sponsored National Handicraft Fair and Macroma bags made by them brought them good income.
- Health Camps
- Periodic health camps are held for the women and children of Palri Meena and Jaggo ki Bawri. A Mobile Medical Van with Dr. Aruna Kanwar, a gynecologist and a female nurse and nursing assistant visit the villages. The health camps are held in partnership with Kejri Sarvodaya Swasthya Trust. Often, when money is scarce, women are the last to receive medical help. These health camps provide an invaluable service.

- Entrepreneurship classes are conducted in the High Schools in Palri Meena and Jagga ki Bawri. The objective is to foster an interest in entrepreneurship at an early age. In addition, when these students pass High School, and if they are unable to get jobs, they would have already acquired the basics of entrepreneurship and would therefore have an option of starting their own small business instead of joining the ranks of the rural unemployed or migrate to the cities to become day laborers or the urban poor. The pilot project was conducted at the Sardar Ram Singh Memorial Secondary School in Palri Meena.
- After completing the course, the students are taken on a field trip to various skills training institutions in the city. Then interested students are provided skills training in skills such as mobile phone repair, two wheeler repair, beautician, and photography. The course ended with a business plan competition in Hindi in which seven groups presented their business plans and the first three winners received prizes. As part of the training program, the students also did Tree Planting in Barren School Yards to keep the schoolyard looking beautiful.
